Constitution Day and Celebrate Freedom Week

This week is Celebrate Freedom Week, and September 17 is Constitution Day. Students will learn about the sacrifices made for freedom in the founding of this country and the values on which this country was founded. This includes the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights.

Patriot Day and Texas First Responders Day

Patriot Day, officially known as the National Day of Service and Remembrance, is observed every September 11 to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001. Midlothian ISD invites you to join us in a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their life that day.

September 11 is also Texas First Responders Day, and we are #MISDProud of the bravery, courage, and determination of Texas men and women who assist others in emergencies.

Women's Equality Day 2023

Midlothian ISD celebrates Women’s Equality (Independence) Day August 26. It is a day commemorating the ratification in 1920 of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which guaranteed women the right to vote. Women’s Independence Day shall be regularly observed by appropriate programs in the public schools to inspire a greater appreciation of the importance of women’s suffrage.
